After lunch, Shu Yan sent the kids out to play. With JingJing and Niuniu there, she could trust them with Xiao Bao. She helped Shu Li with the clean up in the kitchen.
Shu Yan finally said when the kids were not around, “Second Sister, I think this Teacher Wang is…… interested in you.”
Shu Li had a you-must-be-joking look on her. “That’s not possible. He’s a teacher and he’s decent looking. He wouldn’t be interested in someone like me.” Shu Li shook her head. She had a pretty good idea where she stood.
“Don’t say that about yourself, Second Sister. You were a little on the skinny side before but had been gaining some weight over the past year and your skin had become fairer. You have delicate features and, most importantly, you are virtuous. You’ve been divorced but so has he. He’s the one reaching if you ask me.” The two of them came from the same parents. If Shu Yan was pretty, Shu Li wouldn’t be too far off either. And, precisely because they were pretty, they were able to fetch good prices for their parents.

I shall keep my distance with Teacher Wang going forward. It’s fine if he didn’t have any ideas. And if he does, that ought to give him a clue.”
It was difficult enough to be a real mother, let alone a stepmother! Besides, Teacher Wang hadn’t even divorced his wife. She had only run off. Who knew when she would come back and what happened when she did? Did she need to give the spot back to her? Then what about the years that she spent in the relationship? Letting the person bed her for free and be a free nanny. Was she out of her mind?
Besides, what Shu Yan said could very well be true. He could be after her money. If she had money, she was better off spending it on herself or saving them up for her children. Who in the right sense of mind would want to hand money over for someone else to spend for them?
Seeing that Shu Li had her head on her shoulders, Shu Yan stopped talking about the subject.
The two chatted for a while longer and Feng Zeyu came with the car to pick up Shu Yan and the children.
“How’s overseas?”
“I spent all my time working on this trip and didn’t even have a chance to go sightseeing. We will travel together when Xiao Bao is older.”
Shu Yan got pregnant and had a child and never had the time nor energy to have fun ever since the second half of the previous year up until now. Everyone said that having children meant no freedom. Ain’t that the truth?
“We don’t need to wait until Xiao Bao is older. We can just go with JingJing and Tianbao first.” Feng Zeyu didn’t tell Shu Yan that he had been following a lot of news overseas.
