Zhang Sheng stood up angrily.
“Give me the child’s contact information. I’ll look her up myself.”
Mother Gu looked up, displeased. “Big Brother, why must you insist like so? She would only upset me if she comes over. She’s my daughter whom I had conceived for 10 months and given birth to but she had never been familial to me nor did she have any intention to repay me.”

Zhang Sheng slammed hard on the table!
“Why don’t you first think about what you have done?”
“Why didn’t you marry Wushuang off to Huo Sishen? To make her marry a man she knows nothing about?
“You didn’t even tell me and Dad when she got engaged! You made that decision with Gu Jiangxin just the two of you! When she got married, even as her uncle I knew nothing about it!
“Are you like her mother in any way? If your sister-in-law behaved this way, I would have tossed her out the door long time ago!”
Mother Gu was so angry that her hands were shaking. “Did I force her to get married? It was Gu Jiangxin’s idea and she did not object to it either! Besides, she had spent so many years with that family that were so poor that they couldn’t even afford to buy their own house. Now that she is married to Young Master Huo, she is a very happy rich young wife! What do you know, Big Brother??”
Zhang Sheng, “You are ridiculous!”
He took a few deep breathe before he was able to calm himself down.
“You do you. I am not here to fight with you.
“But I am going to say this to you right now. You wait and see how Wushuang will be toward you after you have returned to the capital with me. Do not coming crying to me about your life being tough then!”
Mother Gu was taken aback a little. “That won’t happen. Shuangshuang is not close with her birth parents. I am her only mother to her.”
Zhang Sheng snickered.
She couldn’t even see through one who wanted nothing to do with her birth parents and wouldn’t even go visit them when they were ill and still insisted that she was pure and familial.
Nothing wanting to say anymore Zhang Sheng turned and walked away.
“You give Shishi a call or give me her contact information.”
Zhang Sheng finally made a call directly from Mother Gu’s phone.
Gu Shishi was dumbfounded when she received the call.
She was still dumbfounded when she was done with the call.
“What’s the matter? Those from the Gu family are bothering you again?”
Gu Shishi narrowed his dark eyes dangerously.
He thought that the big gesture that he had shown them last time would keep them away at least for a little while.
“The man said he’s my… Big Uncle.”
Gu Shishi blinked.
“He said he wanted to give me my belated wedding gift.”
Huo Sishen raised his brows. “Zhang Sheng? Just stay home if you don’t want to go.”
“Mmm. He said he is about to return to the capital and would like to meet up with me before he takes off. I… said yes.”
Gu Shishi stuck her tongue out.
She has never had any contact with anyone from the Zhang family before.
But the man sounded gentle and sincere.
He said over the phone that he was old and the number of times that he would be travelling between here and the capital would be few and far between. And that they would not have a lot of opportunities to meet up.
If they didn’t meet up this time, they may not be able to meet up ever again.
He was not forceful, nevertheless. He would mail her her wedding gift if she didn’t wish to leave the house.
Her Big Uncle’s attitude was just too nice.
His baritone was mild and gave her the kind of security that came from an elderly person. She had no heart to turn him down.
As such, she had agreed to it somewhat somehow.
“I’ll go with you.”
Huo Sishen, who had been staying home a lot as of late, made that decision.
