Her limpid eyes were sparkling. She didn’t seem unhappy about his rash action; in fact, she seemed quite happy?
The idea seemed to have lifted his mood in this stormy night.
He bent down and hugged the girl who seemed to be still in shock one more time.
“Walk you back to your room?”
He took a step back quickly.
His palm, however, was still touching her shoulder gently as if worry that she might still be frightened.
A lightning outside lit up half of the sky and the thunder sounded like it came right next to them.
Gu Shishi dazed and the sudden loud noise made her shrank her neck back.
This time the shudder was real.
Huo Sishen frowned. “I’ll walk you back to your room and leave only after you have fallen asleep.”
He was going to have Aunty Lin keep her company but had since changed his mind.
Gu Shishi’s felt that her knees were still weak.
Whether it was from being startled by the thunder or the kiss earlier, she had no idea.
She had only taken one step before she almost fell flat on her face.
Luckily, Huo Sishen was right next to her and never let her go so he was able to stop her just in time.
“Be careful.”
He lectured her.
But then he picked her up.
[Beep! Princess hug 100% completed!]
Gu Shishi: “!”
Ugh. This was all going way too smoothly.
She had completed 2/3 of her missions in one shot!
Gu Shishi was very pleased with the result.
And she was enjoying the princess hug as well.
She only felt that the way back to her room was too short. She wasn’t done experiencing his strong arms before they have reached her room.
She thought about planting a kiss on the boss’s chin to completed another part of the assignment.
Lo and behold, she was pressed down…. in bed by Huo Sishen with a very solemn look.
As though he was teaching a child a lesson, he wrapped her up in her blanket and flattened out all four corners. He even took her cellphone away.
And then he sat down by the bed.
The features of his cold face seemed particularly prominent under the slightly orange glow of the desk lamp.
But…
“Sleep.
“Close your eyes.”
As though he was giving orders.
Having said that, he crossed his arms in front of him and closed his eyes, looking like he, too, was going to rest.
Gu Shishi, “….”
Are you serious?
They were already at the point of the passionate… kiss. And then that was that?
Oh boy. Steel straight men are sure scary!
She peeked at him with his eyes closed. She struggled a little, trying to lift her head up some.
But she had barely moved at all before a cold voice came from above her head.
“Stop moving.
“It’s midnight already.
“Aren’t you going to work tomorrow?”
Gu Shishi was discouraged immediately.
Yup, she had to go to work tomorrow.
Darn.
She looked up and saw that the handsome man didn’t even bother opening up his eyes when he spoke.
Alright… sleep it is…
Nobody moves!
Gu Shishi closed her eyes.
Listening to the boss’s steady breathing, smelling his mint scent, and lying under the soft and warm blanket, Gu Shishi finally felt that she was very tired. She felt very sleepy as soon as she closed her eyes.
Huo Sishen opened up his eyes and smelling the rose scent from her and looked at how peacefully she was sleeping, he tightened his thin lips a little and closed his eyes again.
The two of them leaned against each other unconsciously.
The night was dark but the wind had no way of entering the room.
It was nice and toasty throughout the house.
“Huo ChuChu, are you try to anger Grandma and I?”
Inside the large courtyard, Mother Huo was very angry early in the morning.
In front of her stood Huo Chuchu in her ripped jeans.
“The elders from all the other families are here today. What is this outfit of yours? Go change out of them right now!
“If this is your idea of rebellious, you can give up that idea right now!
“You are shaming the entire Huo family!”
Huo Chuchu frowned. “This is all I have. I wanted to go shopping but you wouldn’t let me out of the house. How is that my fault?”
Mother Huo was so angry that she was about to bust out laughing. “Am I suppose to believe that you really will go shop for clothes if I let you out? You are just going to commit those acts that will give me a heart attack!”
