Chapter 1319 - Begging for Forgiveness

As he spoke, Bai Yaoyao scoffed coldly, “Xirong Ziye, do you still remember? You used my love and your authority as the president to restrict my freedom. I was stuck in the White House all day long. Ha! You treated me as your mistress, and you spent your days lovingly with your fiancée. Xirong Ziye, thinking back, I was really foolish. Why did I love you back then?”

As Bai Yaoyao spoke, Xirong Ziye’s body tensed up. His face turned pale, and his hands trembled.

Bai Yaoyao continued harshly, “You couldn’t forget your first love, not to mention that you had a fiancée, yet you still wanted me to be your mistress. You wanted to have everything. Don’t you think you were too greedy? If the Xiamu family hadn’t used their authority against you, you would still continue restricting my freedom. You chose your power and fiancée over me and abandoned me without a second thought. I still remember that it was a rainy day. Frankly speaking, you had chased me out of the house.”

Xirong Ziye’s grip on Bai Yaoyao’s arms tightened, and his eyes turned increasingly red. It was as though he was bearing with the pain. “Yaoyao, it was my fault. I couldn’t understand love and my own heart. I didn’t know how wonderful you were and didn’t cherish you. I’m sorry.” He had wanted to beg for her forgiveness before he came, but now, he felt that he couldn’t open his mouth to speak those heavy words.

“Xirong Ziye, it definitely wasn’t your fault. You’ve taken my love for granted. You think that no wonder what happened, I’ll be right behind you. You think that I’ll stay by your side, and hence, you toyed with my feelings without a care. You’ve never paid attention to my feelings at all.”

Xirong Ziye knew that he had done her wrong, but he didn’t know that Bai Yaoyao bore so many grievances. He didn’t know that he had caused her so much pain.

Hearing those words from her, Xirong Ziye finally knew how ridiculous his actions had been. However, he really couldn’t afford to lose her. He couldn’t let her go at all.

Bai Yaoyao was his only source of emotional support now.

Xirong Ziye didn’t know what to say anymore. He answered painfully, “Yaoyao, what should I do for you to forgive me?”

Xirong Ziye sounded as though he was begging, and this pitiful tone had actually made Bai Yaoyao’s heart ache. She used to love him, and even if her feelings for him had faded, she also wished for her past lover to be well.

She also didn’t want to see him being so miserable.

“Xirong Ziye, you have your own life to live, and so do I. Let’s move on and leave each other alone, okay?”

Xirong Ziye shook his head continuously. “Yaoyao, don’t be so cruel. I can’t do it. I finally found you after such a long time.”

“Why did you still do everything since you knew that this would happen? Xirong Ziye, I’ve already almost forgotten about you.”

Xirong Ziye’s body was aching. Looking at Bai Yaoyao, he said, “Yaoyao, you said that you’ve almost forgotten about me. That means you haven’t completely forgotten, right? As long as you haven’t, it doesn’t matter if you don’t forgive me now. I’ll keep waiting for you. I’ll show you my sincerity and wait till you forgive me.”

Hearing Xirong Ziye’s words, Bai Yaoyao’s heart wavered too. Her eyes were filled with seriousness and disappointment. She said coolly, “Xirong Ziye, you’re the president. You shouldn’t be like that.”

“Yaoyao, I can give up my position as the president for you. I’m still working as the president solely because I want to find you.”
