1008 Not Even Fully Grown Yet
Zou Ming looked at Old Madam Fan and said, “Please give us your solution as soon as possible. We still have other work to do and can’t keep dealing with your family’s matters.”
Old Madam Fan hesitated for a moment. She had no other way out except to agree to Su Li’s demands. Su Liang and Su Yang were both in jail. Apart from the three daughters in front of her, she did not have any other relatives, let alone any good friends. No one was willing to be friends with Old Madam Fan.
In the end, Old Madam Fan agreed to what Su Li wanted. Even if her debt ended up being overdue, she reckoned that Su Li would not dare to do anything too overboard. Would Su Li hound her to death simply because she was unable to pay the debt?
If Su Li really went to her house to force her to return the money, she would sue Su Li for being unfilial to her parents! She would definitely have the upper hand! How could this little girl who was not even fully grown dare to pick a fight with her! Impossible!
Zou Ming asked Fatty to come over and follow up with the Su family members as he still had to go and discuss the compensation issue with Qiao Mei. There was also a lot of outstanding work that he had to deal with at the police station. As the year came to an end, there were always many things to do. Su Liang’s issue was a prickly one as well. He had no choice but to respect the wishes of his superiors. This matter had to be handled well so that the outcome was satisfactory to everyone.
Just as Zou Ming was about to leave, Old Madam Fan grabbed him and asked, “Officer Zou! What did my son do that caused him to be arrested! Tell me!”
“Your son? Which son are you talking about?” Zou Ming asked as he looked at Old Madam Fan.
“Su Liang! Didn’t you just say that Su Liang was also arrested! What happened to my son?” Old Madam Fan asked nervously.
Zou Ming had thought that Old Madam Fan did not hear what he said, but it turned out that she had taken note of it. However, this matter was related to the higher-ups. If he said too much, he may not be able to continue working in the police station.
“This matter is more complicated. Your son hurt a woman. I don’t know if you know this woman, her name is Qiao Yu. As your son is a repeat offender, I’m afraid…” Zou Ming paused and sighed deeply.
Old Madam Fan could understand what Zou Ming meant. Su Liang was already a lost cause, but at the very least, one of them could still be saved! At least Su Yang could still come home and there was still hope for their family!
After completing the procedures and making payment, all the family members returned to Old Madam Fan’s house in a grand manner. As soon as they entered the house, they could smell the strong scent of alcohol. There were liquor bottles and cracked seed shells all over the floor. If Old Madam Fan had been released a few months later, the entire house would have become a house of rats!
There was still no reaction on Su Li’s face and her expression was very calm. Su Miao and Su Xiu stood at the door and did not want to go in. They wondered how Old Madam Fan could live in such a dirty and messy environment. Old Madam Fan had doted on their two younger brothers so much that the two men had become useless bums. They did not know how to do housework nor could they do their jobs well. They were always doing things that were against the law.
The Su family would have to be very blessed for either of them to be able to find a wife.
“Since you’re back home now, I’ll take my leave. Don’t contact me if anything else happens in the future. Return the money to Eldest Sister and Second Sister first and then call me when it’s done.” After saying that, Su Li prepared to leave.
Old Madam Fan stood at the door and shouted angrily, “You little ingrate! How can I have given birth to someone like you! I should have listened to Su Guang and strangled you to death!”
There was still no expression on Su Li’s face. She had long been completely disappointed in Old Madam Fan and no longer expected anything from her. Su Li’s husband, Du Nan, hugged her tenderly and said, “Let’s go. The children are still waiting for us at home.”
“Yes, let’s go,” Su Li said with a smile.
