It was a photo of Song Yishi’s back… her back was completely exposed, but it was no longer the smooth, pearly back of a woman. There were hundreds of cuts on it, some still seeping blood… it was horrific.

“What’s wrong?” Huo Mian asked.

“Song Yishi… is a little weird,” Qin Chu said as he passed his phone over to Huo Mian and warned, “The photo’s a little scary, brace yourself.”

Because Huo Mian was mentally prepared, the photo didn’t scare her. However, it did shock her.

“It’s impossible, she can’t touch every single part of her back. Someone must’ve done this to her.”

“Do you think she’s in danger? Maybe we should go see her.”

“I’ll go by myself, you should go to bed. It’s late.”

“No, I want to come with you.”

“I’ll go by myself, she asked me to come alone. I think… she wants to say something to me.”

The truth was, Qin Chu could’ve ignored Song Yishi. However, upon seeing that photo, he had a feeling that she was really in trouble.

Qin Chu didn’t have to care about Song Yishi, but he had to consider his family’s relationship with the Song Family. Mayor Song had been taking care of GK for years, and Qin Chu wasn’t one to be ungrateful.

Therefore, he decided to go and see what happened.

“Honey… I want to come with you.”

“Good girl, okay? Go to bed, I’ll be back soon and tell you everything I know about your father and sister…” Qin Chu kissed Huo Mian’s eyelashes before gently saying goodbye.

“According to our plans, if Huo Siqian thought that the two of us went to a hotel together, he would do something about it. But aside from that phone call, he didn’t do anything else.”

“You’re saying that… he doesn’t believe that we went to the hotel together?”

“Maybe… perhaps he found out that you went back to South Hill Manor?”

“I don’t care even if he knows. Qin Chu and I talked things through already, and I don’t care about the matter he threatened Qin Chu with… I won’t let him hurt Qin Chu again.”

“Mhm, good, I’m… glad you guys are okay.” Su Yu’s voice carried a hint of loneliness.

After hanging up, Su Yu leaned back on the hotel couch, smoking a cigarette with a grim expression on his face.

“President Su… when can we leave?” The female artist asked fearfully.

“After dawn.”

Mayor Song loved retro buildings, so he bought a mansion here but later gifted it to Song Yishi for her birthday because she liked it too. However, she rarely lived here.
